Paper Collages

These small works were inspired by a continuation of my education into racial awareness/justice. The events of the summer of 2020 coincided with my increased awareness of what it means to be white in a country based on slavery and continued racial injustices. I find it impossible to ignore this anymore, to be a “nice” white person and not make it an issue in everyday life. These paper collages are my way of envisioning what I read. All proceeds will be donated to a local organization advancing knowledge of injustice and history.

Many of these works were in “Missing Pieces” at NOMA Gallery in Frederick, MD through January 2022. Click here to view the virtual gallery of the show.
