These small works were inspired by a continuation of my education into racial awareness/justice. The events of the summer of 2020 coincided with my increased awareness of what it means to be white in a country based on slavery and continued racial injustices. Just this week Georgia voted on restrictive voter laws aimed at people of color (again). I find it impossible to ignore this anymore, to be a “nice” white person and not make it an issue in everyday life. These paper collages are my way of envisioning what I read. All proceeds will be donated to a racial justice group in Baltimore, MD. or a city of your choice.
