Redlining: an installation

Redlining: an Installation, paper and yarn, dimensions variable.

I created Redlining as a site specific installation for my show “Missing Pieces” at NOMA gallery in Frederick, MD. The show, which took place in January of 2022, grew out of my curiosity and study of racism in America and what it means to be white. Redlining was (is) one of the ways in which the government (local, state and federal) controlled the housing market and kept black and white people separate. This piece is one of my attempts to show what redlining looks like.
