PAPER COLLAGE 2021-2022

These small works were inspired by a continuation of my education into racial awareness/justice. The events of the summer of 2020 coincided with my increased awareness of what it means to be white in a country based on slavery and continued racial injustices. On an artistic level, I just enjoyed cutting little pieces of paper and glueing them together.

Many of these works were in “Missing Pieces” at NOMA Gallery in Frederick, MD through January 2022. All proceeds were donated to AARCH, a local historical organization advancing knowledge of racial injustice and history.
